How do I put this lightly? Tonight didn’t quite go as we planned. The plan was simple – head over to our usual band practice location (which happent to be one of our churches) and work through the drum parts for the record. Unbeknownst to us, there was a meeting there tonight. Derek and I got there first and wouldn’t you know, Luke’s phone was dead and Matt was playing his music too loud to hear his phone ring, so Derek and I had no choice but to wait ’till they go there. Once they arrived, we had a nice long conversation in the parking lot about what exactly we could do to salvage the rest of the night. Matt ended up going home to record his drum parts via garageband (before he leaves for vacation next week) and me, Derek, Luke (and Luke’s wife Stephanie and son Beckett) ended up at Caribou Coffee to go over the songs Derek was drumming on. All in all, that went alright and we’ll get together again (the 3 of us) next week to finalize a few things before we head into The Library to start recording the drums.

On a lighter note, we were invited to The Institute of Production and Recording to record, for FREE, by some ex-students so we might just take them up on that. We’ll see.
