So, I don’t know much about drums, but listening to Matt and Derek espouse their dream kit, hopes for the record and crack drums jokes made me feel like the 3rd wheel (ok, not really, it was actually very informative). But all that ended when we stepped into The Library – a local studio run by one of Matt’s buddies – Matt Patrick (from the band The Gray Coats). Derek will upload some shots of the studio later on, but suffice to say it was amazing. Matt and Derek also divvied out who’s playing drums on what song, with each getting 4 (leaving 2 for them to dual over). Should be fun.

We also sat down and shared a few songs from different albums to get a feel for what kind of sound we’re hoping for. Everything from The Frames, Love-Cars and The Raconteurs. All in all, it was a very productive night and we all agreed that it was refreshing to be so unified about everything. Thanks Lord…
